In brief summary: Shinobu is from a Taishō Era Japan where demons (oni) plague the country by killing and consuming humans. She is part of an elite group of demon slayers whose mission is to kill oni and protect humans.

PERSONALITY:
What impression does your character give when meeting someone for the first time? How does the first impression differ from your character’s true nature?
One’s first impression of Shinobu may depend on the context, whether it be being rescued by her from the clutches of a man-eating demon or being tended to by her within her rehabilitative estate. One thing is certain though, that regardless of the situation Shinobu is almost always wearing a smile. It’s one of the few constants attached to her personality when one meets her for the first time, accompanied by the gentle tone of her voice and understanding gaze. She’s charming and considerate when you first meet her and exudes an air of confidence. However, behind the smile lies something more honest and far more exposing than Shinobu will readily admit. Deep within her kind demeanor lies an unending well of rage towards demons, one that has driven her to seek revenge no matter the cost. The anger often manifests into cruelty when she speaks or interacts with demons– it's part of her true nature that has shaped her goals and who she is in this story. In the story she admits that this rage is what continues to push her forward, even if it's often exhausting. Her usual smile isn't too far off from the icy one she'll usually reserve for demons, but when it comes down to it they both show two sides that Shinobu embraces fully.

How does your character handle stress? What do they do in an emergency?

As part of an elite team of demon slaying warriors Shinobu balances a significant amount of stress on a day to day basis. That is to say not all of her stress comes from demon slaying, but also from making sure fellow injured warriors stay alive in her estate. Shinobu rarely shows the side of herself that truly is affected by stress and this most likely is an attribute to the role she plays as head doctor. She’s been known to turn to her dearly departed older sister for emotional support, often trying to reign in her emotions before they can get the best of her. When things become dire Shinobu throws herself willingly into the fray with all of the ambition and focus one would expect from a swordswoman of her caliber. She’ll more than likely be prepared to take down any threats and help those who are in need of it.

What are your character’s ambitions/goals? Why are they important to your character?

In the world where Shinobu resides demons consume humans for sustenance, for strength and for power. As a child Shinobu was protected by the security of her family, until the day came when that stability was ripped away forever. Her parents were killed by demons, leaving Shinobu and her elder sister Kanae to fend for themselves and navigate a world riddled with demons. Under a fellow demon slayer’s tutelage Shinobu managed to overcome her weaknesses and use her skills to effectively defend others from demons. At that point her goal would have been to protect humans from becoming victims of demon’s attacks with her sister at her side, living for as long as she could until she grew old and died. However, fate would soon twist that path into something much more difficult for Shinobu to bear. After her sister was killed by a high-ranking demon, Shinobu's world shifted. She no longer had any hope of a future of her own, and instead changed the trajectory of her path towards revenge. Everything she does now is for the day she’ll be able to encounter the demon and finally slay him, rid the world of his blight and finally obtain peace for herself.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• SWORDSMAN SHIP
Shinobu uses a heavily modified katana made by Tecchin Tecchikawahara as her primary weapon. It is the same as any katana from the handle to slightly above the hilt, but above that, the weapon loses its blade and is replaced by a rod. It ends in a needle-like tip, resembling an insect's stinger in appearance and function. The "stinger" is designed for injection of Wisteria poisons into Demons, as Shinobu uses her medical expertise to overcome her relative lack of strength and inability to cut off heads. She has also modified the weapon's sheath, using it as a portable poison mixer and loader. She is one of five Hashira to wield a unique weapon.

• BODY MODIFICATION
Shinobu heavily altered her body by absorbing and altering her body's physiology with highly concentrated Wisteria-based poison over a period of a year. She is successful in saturating her body with the undetectable poison that has completely merged with her body's own cell structures, including those of her blood and internal organs—all the way down to the very tips of her fingernails. With Shinobu's overall size and body weight, her body is the equivalent of 37 kilograms worth of poison, approximately seven-hundred times more than the lethal amount needed to kill an average Demon.

• NATURAL ABILITIES
Despite not being as combat-talented as the rest of her fellow Hashira, Shinobu instead displays immense skill and mastery over medical and pharmaceutical fields to make up for her lack of natural-born combat ability, being highly knowledgeable about how to create various poisons and venoms using Wisteria flowers. She is capable of killing opponents within seconds, and even manages to create a poison strong enough to drastically weaken Doma, the second strongest Demon of the Twelve Kizuki. She possesses the necessary skills to slowly saturate her body with poison without negatively impending her own health, as well as the medical skills needed to counteract the venoms and poisons created by Demons. This is seen when she manages to undo the poison that is slowly transforming Zenitsu into a spider and restore him back to his previous human form.

NERFING: Because Shinobu is a human down to her bones it's difficult to gauge how her abilities would be nerfed since most are within the capacity of human abilities. One notable strength of her’s is her sword thrust which is so strong it is said she can destroy boulders with it. Strong as it is even this ability can only be done a certain amount of times, so in this case I would say the thrust would be downgraded to 20%.

WEAKNESSES: N/A, she has no notable weaknesses that physically affect her.
